Event Classification & Ratings
Version 2.3 - March 20, 2001
Class A - Family Oriented
Events that the 2-Big Broncos 4x4 Club rate as Class A are
expected to provide fun and entertainment for the whole
family, young children to older adults. There will be very
little actual "4 wheeling" and these events are accessible
to anyone with any type of vehicle (not just "trail rigs").
Typical Class A events include: camping trips, picnics,
barbecues, and community service events such as litter
patrol, trail maintenance, and area cleanups.
The list of suggested Class A run gear (different from a B or C run):
- Cup holders
- Frisbee
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
(if raining, omit #3 & 4)
- Camera
- Any other gear is optional:-)
Recommended Equipment (for Safety):
- CB Radio Is Recommended
- Spare Tire
- Jack Appropriate For Your maintenance
- Lug Wrench Of The Correct Size To Remove a Wheel
- Drinking Water
- Snacks/Food
- Extra Clothes
- Basic First-Aid Kit
- Other Items As Appropriate For The Situation/Climate/Region
Class B - Beginner/Intermediate Trails and Skill Building
Events that the 2-Big Broncos 4x4 Club rate as Class B events
are designed to be challenging for beginners
and for unmodified off-road vehicles. They involve 4x4
trails and challenges that boost your driving skills
while introducing you to "4 wheeling". The emphasis is on
safety and learning how-to handle your 4x4 truck off-road
and in/on varying conditions. The pace will be slow enough
that areas of difficulty will be studied first and tackled
next.
Required Equipment (for Safety):
Everything included in Class A list is now required, plus
the following...
- CB Radio Is Required
- Full-Sized "Usable" Spare Tire
- Recovery Points Front & Rear
- Recovery Strap
- Blanket -and/or- Survival Gear
- Fire Extinguisher
- Some Spare Parts
- Basic Tools
Class C - Advanced Trail Rides and Challenges
Events that the 2-Big Broncos 4x4 Club rate as Class C events
are the most exciting and difficult 4-wheeling challenges. Experienced 4x4
drivers and their trucks will be put to the test. Your skills will be
sharpened and challenged during this trial run. With this
classification, your "4 wheeling" abilities, past
trail knowledge, skills to over-coming difficult obstacles,
and vehicle strength will make this one fun event.
Lifted suspension and larger then standard tires
are recommended for these trips. Frequently, large
rocks and other natural obstacles are encountered on the trail. At times, vehicle
body dents and scratches are a possibility.
Required Equipment (for Safety & Increased Enjoyment/Fun):
Everything included in Class A list and Class B list , plus the following...
- A Winch -and/or- Locker In At Least One Axle
- Tire Size At Least 1" Larger Then Stock For Your Vehicle
- Extra Fuel
- Comprehensive Recovery Gear Set
- Comprehensive Spare Parts Supply
- Comprehensive Tool Set
Class E -- Trail Exploration & Mapping
Recommended to keep very small groups (2-4 trucks) for fast movement. This is how/where the 2-Big Broncos Club trails get mapped, documented, and explored. Expect the unexpected with
this trail run.
Everything included in Class A, Class B, and Class C lists, plus someone with the following...
